A Creative Salon for Women in Budapest
Budapest has no shortage of networking events — business cards, elevator pitches, a room full of people asking what you do before they've asked how you are.
The Garden After the Fire is the opposite of that. Twelve women, one table, symbolic art, live music, and a real question a lot of us are quietly avoiding — not "will AI take my job," but "what's the one thing only I can build, that no tool can build for me."
If you've been looking for a room like that in Budapest, this is it. The next Garden is October 10th. Twelve seats.
Places are limited to twelve women. Reserve now to hold yours — and get private previews, studio notes, and first word on future dates as they're announced.
What is The Garden?
Part creative salon, part symbolic art experience, part gathering of women who make things — artists, writers, musicians, designers, founders, researchers. If you live in Budapest, just moved here, or you're only visiting, you're welcome at the table.
What happens, and what you'll leave with
We make symbolic art, using your hands to say something words haven't found yet. Some of the evening, we're simply in our bodies together, without performing for each other. We sit with a real question a lot of women are quietly avoiding right now — not "will AI take my job," but "what's the one thing only I can build, that no tool can build for me" — and we work through it together, on paper, at the table.
Conversation goes wherever it's actually true that day. No need to fill the silence just to be polite.
You'll leave with a symbolic artwork you made yourself, a Threshold Passport journal, a written personal declaration for the life you're choosing next, and a table of women who watched you stop adjusting yourself, and stayed anyway.
WHAT I HOPE FOR
I hope someone laughs louder than she expected.
I hope someone stops apologising halfway through a sentence.
I hope someone remembers a part of herself she thought she'd lost.
I hope someone discovers she was never behind.
I hope twelve strangers leave feeling less alone than when they arrived.
I'm building that room.
Why only twelve women?
Past twelve, people stop being fully seen. Small enough that strangers become familiar by the time the evening ends — and the room becomes something we built together, not something that happened to us.
ABOUT
Obianuju Tóth is a Nigerian-born artist, writer, and founder of ARTOMYSTIC, an interdisciplinary creative practice based in Hungary, researching why capable women quietly stop finishing the work only they could make.
The Garden After the Fire is where that research becomes a room.
