Collision Line | Sculpture by Obianuju Tóth | Artomystic

What you are looking at

One half of this panel is controlled. Gold thread, brass nails, a formation held in place by intention. The other half is torn — black sheer fabric ripped rather than cut, red rope resting loose against it, nothing measured or contained.

The cowrie shell sits in the buried self. It carries its own weight, inherited rather than chosen, sitting at the point of collision rather than on either side of it.

Every other sculpture in this collection names one pattern and stops there. This one holds two things in the same frame and offers no way to resolve them into one. The line is the whole subject. Nothing here explains what happens after the collision.
